Special Notes: Firefighters from multiple agencies continue suppression efforts to contain the 310 Fire. Aviation resources have played a critical role in limiting fire spread, working in coordination with hand crews conducting operations on the ground. The safety of firefighters and the public remains the highest priority. Today marks an operational transition as the Colorado Type 3 Incident Management Team assumes command of the incident this evening.

Current Situation: The fire was most recently mapped at 602 acres. Firefighters made significant progress on the northern portion of the fire yesterday and continue to build on those gains as suppression efforts advance. Crews remain focused on achieving containment objectives while strengthening and securing fire lines.

Weather: Winds are expected to be relatively light through Saturday, generally being driven by the terrain. Relative humidities are expected to fall into the single digits again today with no precipitation anticipated through the weekend.

Fire Behavior: Dry fuel conditions continue to contribute to active fire behavior across the incident area. The fire remains characterized by smoldering, creeping, and isolated torching, with the potential for continued growth and rapid spread driven by existing environmental and fuel conditions.

Fire Restrictions: Stage 2 Fire Restrictions remain in effect throughout Garfield County, as well as on lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the White River National Forest. Under these restrictions, all open fires are prohibited to help reduce the risk of wildfire ignition and spread.

A temporary flight restriction (TFR) is in effect in the airspace above the fire. Wildfires are always a no-fly zone for unauthorized aircraft, including drones. If you fly, we can’t.
