Affected area: Moffat, Rio Blanco, Routt, Jackson, Grand, Garfield, Eagle, Pitkin, Lake, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Park, Teller, Fremont, El Paso and Pueblo Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to Craig, Meeker, Rangely, Steamboat Springs, Walden, Granby, Hot Sulphur Springs, Kremmling, Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Vail, Aspen, Leadville, Central City, Georgetown, Fairplay, Cripple Creek, Canon City, Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Advisory in effect: 5 a.m. MDT, Monday, August 3, 2026 to 9 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Public health recommendations: Increasing likelihood of respiratory symptoms in sensitive individuals, aggravation of heart or lung disease and premature mortality in people with cardiopulmonary disease and older adults. People with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.
Outlook: Areas of moderate to heavy smoke from out-of-state wildfires will be possible within the advisory area through at least Tuesday morning.
