Elk and Lee Fire: Thank you from Incident Commander Casey Cheesbrough

Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 3

After 14 days on the Elk and Lee Fires, the entire Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 3 would like to thank the communities of Meeker and Rifle for their support during challenging conditions. As Incident Commander Casey Cheesbrough shared, your encouragement meant a great deal to our firefighters.

We are transferring command to Northern Rockies Team 1 this evening at 5 p.m. While fire activity has moderated, hot and dry days are still ahead, and smoke will continue to be visible at times. It has been our privilege to serve your communities.
